LARGO — On the eve of Independence Day, some 40 American flags were reported stolen in unincorporated Largo, according to the Pinellas Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. David DiSano said a resident of Oakglen Drive in Largo's Bay Hills neighborhood reported that 40 miniature flags were taken sometime Monday night from houses in the area. DiSano said there is no indication who took the flags. In the absence of further leads, he said, the investigation is closed.
