7-Eleven clerk accused of taking cash from register

ZEPHYRHILLS A 7-Eleven store clerk was arrested Tuesday after being accused of stealing nearly $3,000 from the cash register.

Deputies said Sharon Elizabeth Geistlinger, 53, of 40550 Sutorus Road, took money for the past month and a half from the store at 38544 Fifth Ave. by voiding out purchases and then pocketing the money. According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report, Geistlinger told deputies she took the money to help support her disabled husband and pay bills.

She was taken to the county jail, where she was charged with grand theft and released on $2,000 bail.
