Deputies: Home invasion victim critically wounded in New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY — Pasco County deputies are investigating a home invasion and shooting early Sunday morning that left a victim in critical condition, the Sheriff’s Office said.

About 2:20 a.m., deputies received a call that reported the resident at 4429 Tidal Pond Road was shot by two masked people. Authorities have not identified the victim.

The shooting may have been drug related, deputies said.

Authorities said the victim was shot in the abdomen and transported to a local hospital.

No further information was available.
