Investigators want to know who mutilated two alligators

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is conducting an investigation after two alligators were found mutilated in Manatee County.

Investigators found the alligators after the FWC was contacted on Sunday. The agency said the two alligators were found near Wauchula Road in Myakka City with their tails removed.

It is illegal to harm or kill an alligator, the agency said. The investigation is ongoing.
