Man sought in sexual assault of woman, 71, in New Port Richey

He was described as a Hispanic or black male between the ages of 25 and 35, armed with a handgun with a red or orange tip. He was about 6-feet tall and said his name was Kevin. Deputies said he has a thin goatee, a scar on his right forearm, a tattoo on his chest that reads "DORTH" and another unknown tattoo on the chest. NEW PORT RICHEY — Deputies are searching for a man who they said broke into a home and raped a 71-year-old woman on Monday.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was checking on a home at 7437 Heather St. for the homeowner at about 8:15 a.m. when she was approached by a man armed with a gun. He then sexually assaulted her, deputies said.

He was described as a Hispanic or black male between the ages of 25 and 35, about 6-foot tall with a thin goatee, a scar on his right forearm, a tattoo on his chest that reads "DORTHA" and another unknown tattoo on the chest.

The woman told deputies the man said his name was Kevin before he fled at about 10 a.m. He was last seen walking northbound on Heather Street.

The handgun he used had a red or orange tip, deputies said.
