Miami murder suspect arrested after Thonotosassa standoff

THONOTOSASSA — A murder suspect from Miami was arrested without incident Friday morning after a Hillsborough County SWAT team standoff.

Soddoni Dotin, 31, was arrested and transported to the Orient Road Jail around 8:23 a.m., roughly an hour after the SWAT team arrived on scene near Williams Road and Grandfield Road, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Danny Alvarez.

Deputies began pursuing Dotin after receiving a call from the Miami Police Department on Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. that said a potential suspect in a July 13 murder there was believed to be in the area.

Deputies say they began searching for Dotin immediately, finding the home he was believed to be in Friday morning round 1:30 a.m.

Officers from Miami assisted with the arrest, Alvarez said.

Dowtin was wanted on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with a homcide on July 13 in Miami, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
