Pasco County sheriff’s deputies on Monday arrested a 26-year-old man who they said fired a gun into a car last month, killing a teenage passenger.

Steven Irizarry Marin, of Port Richey, faces a charge of second-degree murder for the Feb. 14 shooting death of 14-year-old Christian Robinson, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Robinson was a passenger in a blue Hyundai about 6 p.m. The car, driven by Alexander McCarthy, turned left from U.S. 19 onto Ridge Crest Drive in Port Richey, deputies said. Marin, in a dark green Mazda, followed. When McCarthy turned into a cul-de-sac near 6405 Ridge Crest Dr., deputies said, Marin opened fire.

Detectives said multiple gunshots could be heard on surveillance video collected from nearby houses. On Marin’s phone, detectives said they found a PDF with information about the definition of homicide on it, downloaded just hours after the shooting.
