Tampa police seek driver in fatal Saturday morning hit and run

Tampa police are looking for a motorist who they say killed a man in an early Saturday morning hit and run.

About 2 a.m. Saturday, a 38-year-old man was hit by a car travelling east on the 3600 block of E Columbus Dr. in Tampa, according to a Tampa Police Department release. The victim appeared to either walking or skateboarding at the time of the crash, TPD said.

Police found him in the street still breathing but unresponsive. He was taken to a hospital, where he died, TPD said.

The department has not released the man's name because it has yet to notify his relatives.

TPD provided a video of a car that they said may have been involved in the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information about the accident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
