HOLIDAY — A woman and man were arrested on felony charges Monday evening by Pasco County deputies, in connection with a physical altercation that injured a man in early February, the Sheriff’s Office said.

On Feb. 13, Ronni Wells, 31, and Philip Hoyt Jr., 20, went to the home of Jeff Bunnell at 5613 Elkhorn Boulevard, according to deputies. There, Hoyt pointed a gun at Bunnell’s face, deputies said, threatening him because of a disagreement between Wells and Bunnell.

Bunnell attempted to grab the handgun, and the struggle caused the gun magazine to fall out of the gun, authorities said. During the altercation, deputies said Wells hit Bunnell with a wooden object twice on the back of his head. Deputies said Bunnell had a lump and laceration on his head.

Bunnell ran into the house to call authorities, deputies said, and Hoyt ran to his car.

As the car pulled out, Hoyt fired three shots toward Bunnell and April Pinnell, as they stood on the home’s front porch, deputies said.

Wells was arrested Monday evening on a charge of aggravated battery that resulted in serious injuries and was being held at the Pasco County jail Tuesday in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Hoyt was arrested on three felony charges, deputies said, and was being held Tuesday at the Pasco County jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
