TAMPA — A man wearing a motorcycle helmet robbed an insurance office at gunpoint Friday morning, authorities said.
The man entered the Direct General Insurance office at 9017 E Adamo Dr., suite 113, about 9:50 a.m. Monday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He pointed a silver handgun at the manager and demanded money. After he was given an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled on foot and got into the driver's seat of a gray Isuzo Rodeo and drove away, deputies said.
The Sheriff's Office described the suspect as a Hispanic man, 35 to 40 years old and about 5-11 to 6-1 in height. He has a medium build, short black hair and a neatly trimmed goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-white striped motorcycle helmet, dark clothing and gloves, authorities said.
