TAMPA — A Tampa home was burglarized early Tuesday, and one of the suspects was caught hiding in a nearby river. The other is still at large.

About 3 a.m., someone called 911 and reported that two men were trying to force their way into 1204 E Park Circle, home of 26-year-old Jeanette Powell, police said. When officers arrived, the two men ran toward the Hillsborough River.

A police dog found 24-year-old Vahid Osmanovic, of 4900 N MacDill Ave., hiding in a boat behind 1112 E Patterson Ave.

The other suspect got away. He was described as a white man in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build.

Police said they found a green Dodge Caravan that had been reported stolen running but unattended in the 1200 block of Park Circle. Osmanovic told police that he and the other suspect drove the van to the area.

Osmanovic will be booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on attempted-burglary charges, police said. According to jail records, he was arrested in Hillsborough County in November 2008 and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools and burglary.
