ST. PETERSBURG — A man trying to peddle a stolen scuba tank on Craigslist for cheap was busted on Sunday when the real owner discovered his property listed on the online advertising site, police said.

Christopher Logan Lewis, 21, of 870 64th Ave. S,, is charged with dealing in stolen property and is being held on a $20,000 bail at Pinellas County Jail.

The owner of the tank, who lives in Redington Beach, saw the listing and then traveled to St. Petersburg to meet Lewis. After viewing the $450 tank, he contacted police, who arrested Lewis after identifying specific markings the owner had applied, police said.

Lewis admitted told police he had listed the tank on Craigslist for $100 because he "thought it was worth a lot of money."
