TAMPA — A Tampa man and woman were jailed after robbing a home and beating the resident with a handgun, deputies said.

It happened around 1:15 p.m. Monday at 14011 N Nebraska Ave. Deputies said Robert Dorsey Burke, 23, and Chelsea Lyn Thompson, 22, drove to the home of an acquaintance, where Burke brandished a handgun and demanded money.

Burke hit the victim in the head with the butt of the gun, causing him to bleed, according to an arrest report. He and Thompson then fled.

Police found the pair at their home, at 13827 Azalea Circle, No. 102, and took them to jail on a charge of home invasion robbery. Burke also faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a weapon and ammunition.
