TAMPA — Police arrested the godmother of a 20-month-old boy Wednesday, saying the infant got second-degree burns on his feet and buttocks from being put into a scalding hot bath.

Gladiesha Foster, 19, of 11314 N 52nd St., Apt. 13B, has been charged with aggravated child abuse and is being held in a Hillsborough County jail where bail has not been set, an arrest report shows.

Tampa police say Foster was babysitting when she placed the boy into the bathtub with the hot water running, according to a news release.

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where doctors treated him for second-degree burns.
