Deputies seek 2 men who tried to rob bank

Pasco sheriff's deputies are searching for two men who attempted a bank robbery in Lutz on Monday afternoon.

Deputies received the call at 3:53 p.m. Two white men in their late 20s entered Heritage Bank of Florida, 23000 State Road 54, armed with a carpenter's level and demanded money.

The teller refused to give them money and they left. One man was described as wearing a red mask; the other, a coonskin cap.

No one was hurt in the robbery attempt.

The men were last seen heading west on SR 54 in a light blue beat-up Oldsmobile or Buick. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Sheriff's Office toll-free at 1-800-854-2862.
