SEMINOLE — A 25-year-old Largo man has been arrested on a charge that he abused and bruised a 97-year-old patient at a Seminole assisted living facility.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Arthur Lynn Sanders, a certified nursing assistant, changed the patient's adult diaper about 1 a.m. Friday without cleaning him properly.

When the elderly man asked him to do it correctly, Sanders refused. He also refused to summon a nurse as the patient asked.

Moments later, Sanders alledgedly grabbed the man's right arm and used it to trap the victim's left arm against his chest, authorities said. Then he cleaned the man, but did a half-hearted job.

The victim reported the incident to an employee on the next shift, who called the Sheriff's Office.

The victim had bruises on his wrist and forearm. To protect his identity, sheriff's officials did not release the name of the adult living facility where he lives.

Sanders was arrested Friday afternoon at his home on Crosby Street and charged with felony abuse of the elderly and battery. He was being held at the Pinellas County Jail Friday in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Prosecute the S.O.B. There is no excuse for any kind of abuse....there are too many victims that are afraid to report it, or are unable to report it. Good for the man who did!!!
