TAMPA — Two men were arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery early Saturday morning.

Benjamin Bryant, 20, and Ronald E. Godwin, 19, both of Tampa, were charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, home invasion robbery and kidnapping.

Hillsborough sheriff's officials said the robbers, who had a gun, pulled a 20-year-old woman from her car in the parking lot of the Camden Citrus Park apartments at about 1 a.m., then forced her to ring the doorbell of her friend's apartment.

Her friend, Christopher D. Clabeaux, was inside his apartment with another man and a woman. When the friend opened the door, one of the intruders shot Clabeaux in the neck. The intruders stole a safe and a woman's purse, and ran away.

Deputies used a dog to track and arrest them.

Clabeaux, 18, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition. He told deputies that he didn't know why the intruders robbed or shot him.
