Linda Young works two jobs. She was between shifts Wednesday when she pulled up to her Seminole home to grab a quick lunch.

That's when she found someone else at work inside her home.

She stopped just short of her own driveway because a strange car was parked there. She got out, slowly crept up to her house, then saw a man walk out.

He was not empty-handed.

"He had my pillow case," Young said, "which I found out later was full of my jewelry."

The strange car took off with three men inside, Young said, and nearly ran her over. What followed next was a call to 911, a high-speed chase and a two-hour manhunt near the Tyrone area of St. Petersburg.

It ended with the arrest of three Tampa men: Britton Arline, 21, of 8620 N 14th St.; Demetrick Jenrette, 23, of 1416 Bougainvillea Ave. E; and Maurice Boyer, 24, of 5410 Temple Elm Lane.

Now Pinellas sheriff's detectives are exploring a possible link between the three and a spate of similar midcounty burglaries, according to Sgt. Jim Bordner.

Deputies say Young gave 911 a description and partial tag number of the silver 2006 Chevy Impala that sped away from her 76th Avenue N home.

A sheriff's cruiser quickly picked up the trail. But a brief chase ended when the men abandoned the Impala in a vacant St. Petersburg lot and fled on foot.

Two hours later, St. Petersburg police Officer Chris Ladd and his dog Shaman found the three hiding in the laundry room of an unoccupied home, deputies said. It was their second burglary of the day, police said.

Each of the three was arrested on two counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools. Jenrette was arrested on a count of grand theft auto.

That's because Pinellas deputies say the Impala was stolen, reported missing from Tampa International Airport on Sept. 24. Deputies also say they found what could be more stolen property inside. And Arline and Jenrette face outstanding Hillsborough warrants, too.

Young, 59, got her jewelry back. But not her peace of mind.

"I'm totally ticked off," she said. "I don't know what their lives are like for them to do this to anybody.
