Shady Hills girl, 17, charged in stepfather's stabbing

SHADY HILLS — A 17-year-old girl stabbed her stepfather in the back with a kitchen knife Friday evening, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Karen E. Hastings told deputies she "stabbed him one time in the back because she was angry," her arrest report states.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. at Hasting's Shady Hills mobile home, 18120 Ferrera Ave., where she lives with her stepfather.

The man's medical condition is not known.

Hastings is charged with felony aggravated domestic battery and is in juvenile custody.
