Authorities searching for Sun City Center bank robber

SUN CITY — Same guy, different bank.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the man responsible for robbing the same SunTrust Bank twice in one week, may have moved on to a nearby Trustco Bank Friday afternoon.

This time, deputies say, he offered the teller a plastic bag and demanded it be filled with money. During the SunTrust robberies on March 5 and March 9, the robber also utilized a plastic bag to cover his hand.

The banks are a few hundred feet apart — the Trustco at 4441 Sun City Center Blvd and the SunTrust at 1525 Rickenbacker Drive.

Deputies describe the robber as a white man, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, weighing roughly 240 pounds. He was wearing a blue denim shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap with and orange "F" on the front.

Anyone with information about these crimes can contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
