SPRING HILL — Authorities are asking for the public's help as they seek to identify the suspects who activated fire alarms and discharged fire extinguishers in the Beacon Theatres on Saturday night. Moviegoers in two auditoriums were watching final showings at about 11:45 p.m. when the fire alarm sounded, the Hernando Sheriff's Office said. At the same time, the suspects discharged fire extinguishers in the theaters, and water sprinklers in the hallway began to spray. The suspects were able to escape undetected as theater employees evacuated the building. The incident caused more than $20,000 worth of damage, the Sheriff's Office said. Detectives are asking anyone who saw something suspicious inside or outside the theater to call the Sheriff's Office at (352) 754-6830. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, call 1-866-990-8477 or submit a tip at hernandosheriff.org/tips.
