ST. PETERSBURG — Police were investigating an incident Thursday night in which a bail bondsman shot a fugitive.
The incident occurred about 7:15 p.m. at 4248 Fourth Ave. S. Police said three bail bondsmen with Kyle's Kwik Bail Bonds were looking for Lorenzo Arscopt, 24, who was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court on a marijuana charge.
According to the bondsmen, Arscopt drove a black Toyota Camry at one of them as they approached the home.
The bondsman, whose name wasn't released, fired several times at the car, hitting Arscopt in the shoulder. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
He was found to have a handgun in his possession and more charges against him are possible, police said.
St. Petersburg police said they don't anticipate the bail bondsman will face any charges.
