Bicyclist hit, killed on U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor

A bicyclist struck by a hit-and-run driver on U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor early Thursday has died from her injuries.

Narissaa Jo-Ann Robinson, 28, was pedaling in the outside turn lane near 298th Avenue N, just south of Curlew Road, at about 12:45 a.m. when she was clipped by a white 2005 Hyundai that left the scene, leaving Robinson on the roadway. She was then run over, troopers said, by a 2012 Mercedes driven by Shereef Adel Moawad, 49, of Palm Harbor.

Robinson was transported by ambulance to Mease Countryside Hospital, where she died, troopers said.

There are no charges pending against Moawad.

Authorities found the Hyundai abandoned and shortly afterward located its driver, 24-year-old Christopher M. Jones of Tarpon Springs. Charges are pending an investigation, according to the FHP.
