Body of slain homeless man found in Hudson

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating the killing of a homeless man whose body was found near a camp in Hudson.

Deputies got a call about 12:30 a.m. Saturday saying someone had found a body at a homeless camp west of U.S. 19 near State Road 52. The victim, Darrell Bland, 53, was killed by another homeless man, 50-year-old Robert Shelly, according to sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll. Shelly was still at large as of Saturday afternoon.

A motive and cause of death were not being disclosed Saturday, the Sheriff's Office said.
