An AR-15 rifle, stolen from a police car, was recovered this week by deputies.

Two arrests this week might help solve a slew of unsolved burglaries in east Pasco neighborhoods, investigators say.

Majestica Santillan, 24, and her boyfriend, Anthony Cabrera, 29, were each driving stolen cars with stolen property inside when deputies spotted them in a stakeout Wednesday near a house they were sharing in Land O'Lakes, authorities said.

Santillan was arrested after trying to flee in the stolen car, according to a Sheriff's Office report. Cabrera ran, investigators said, but was found and arrested early Friday.

"They're like a little Bonnie and Clyde team as far as burglaries go," said sheriff's Sgt. Steve Greiner.

After Cabrera took off, leaving the stolen car behind, deputies found a sniper rifle stolen from a Plant City police officer's cruiser that was parked in the Lake Bernadette subdivision.

The locked cop car was burglarized June 15. In addition to the sniper rifle, an AR-15 rifle, bullet-proof vest, ammunition, computer and SWAT gear were all taken, sheriff's Lt. Rodney Bishop said.

Cabrera was caught Friday in the home of a friend, Greiner said. The rest of the property from the police car was in the room where he was hiding. Golf equipment, wallets with people's ID cards and numerous GPS units were also found, he said.

Santillan has also been charged in connection with several Meadow Pointe burglaries from the last few weeks. Bishop said she had been spotted in Zephyrhills on June 13 with a camera and GPS unit on her, which detectives later determined were stolen from a car in Meadow Pointe.

Cabrera and Santillan both had master vehicle keys, which investigators think they used to get in locked cars.

Santillan, 21512 Southwood Drive in Land O'Lakes, was convicted of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud in February and served five months in prison last fall for several crimes including trafficking in stolen property and possessing a controlled substance. She is now charged with the theft of the car, six counts of car burglary, possessing a controlled substance and probation violation. She is being held at the Land O'Lakes jail with no bail.

Cabrera spent nearly three years in prison for numerous crimes including trafficking in stolen property, grand theft and battery on a law enforcement officer. He is charged with two counts of grand theft motor vehicle and armed burglary. His bail is set at $54,000.

"We don't know how many different cases they're going to be tied to," Bishop said. "There's no doubt in my mind we're going to clear a lot of burglaries."
