Brandon man caught in undercover FDLE sting

ORLANDO — A Brandon man was caught Thursday in a sting where an undercover officer posed as a parent offering his daughter for sex in exchange for money, authorities said.

Ryan Mason, 31, drove to Orlando after chatting with a Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent, reported Bay News 9, citing FDLE officials.

Mason was being held in the Orange County Jail without bail. He faces charges including sexual battery with a weapon or force, soliciting a minor via a computer and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, jail records show.

FDLE told Bay News 9 that Mason fought off seven agents who tried to arrest him after he drove to Festival Park near the Executive Airport in Orlando. They were able to take him into custody, but one agent was hurt.

"He was yelling at us to ultimately kill him, multiple times. He just wanted to die today for some reason," Jeffrey Duncan, with FDLE, told Bay News 9.
