Brooksville man arrested on drug counts after wife dies of overdose

BROOKSVILLE -- Earlier this month, deputies found Karen Harris dead and her husband, William Fore, unconscious at their home, both victims of an apparent drug overdose.

On Wednesday, Fore was arrested and accused of illegally obtaining prescription drugs from various sources, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies went to the couple's home on Evergreen Avenue in Brooksville on Sept. 10, the report stated, and found Harris, 49, dead and Fore, 54, unresponsive. Fore was taken to Oak Hill hospital.

Investigators found numerous empty pill bottles for Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and methadone prescribed to Harris and Fore throughout the house. Fore, the report stated, had prescription bottles from several different physicians for the same medications during the same period of time.

Fore was arrested Wednesday on a charge of obtaining medications by withholding information from practitioner.
