'Brotherly love' spat sends Port Richey man to jail

PORT RICHEY — The two brothers had spent the day at Daytona Beach. They stopped by a Wing House on the way home.

But as they were walking up to their house about 1:25 Tuesday morning, Thomas Urbanski, who is 51 and disabled, stopped his brother John Urbanski, 50, from coming inside, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

John became agitated. Authorities say he pushed his brother to the ground.

Thomas has limited mobility in his leg after being shot seven times in a previous incident. Neighbors heard him scream as they struggled: "I can't believe you just kicked down a cripple!"

Deputies say John then used his shirt to choke his brother.

"I honestly thought he was going to kill me," Thomas told deputies, a report states.

They arrested John Urbanski, of 9923 Grace Drive, on a charge of domestic battery by strangulation. He was released from Land O'Lakes jail after posting $1,000 bail.

At the scene, reports state, John wouldn't talk to deputies.

"What happened was between brothers," was all he would say. "Brotherly love."
