Burger King in Tampa robbed at gunpoint

TAMPA — Two men broke into a Burger King early Thursday and robbed the women inside at gunpoint.

The two women were working the drive-through window at the restaurant at 4103 W Hillsborough Ave. just after 3 a.m. when two men wearing dark clothing and ski masks threw a large piece of concrete against the entrance door, Tampa Police said.

The glass shattered and the men entered the Burger King and shouted at the women to hand over the money. One robber waved a gun in the air, police said.

The gunmen stole money from the cash register and ran away. No injuries were reported.

An investigation was under way early Thursday.

No further information was immediately available.
