PINELLAS PARK — A 20-year-old man was stabbed multiple times Friday after he forced his way into the home of a teenage girl he was dating, police said.

Joshua E. Mojica-Carmona tried to enter the house at 8000 52nd St. N through a window about 3:30 p.m. and was confronted by the 17-year-old girl's current boyfriend, Edgardo Diaz, 21, according to Pinellas Park police. Mojica-Carmona then forced his way in through the front door. When the girl tried to calm him, he battered her and attacked Diaz, police said. Diaz stabbed Mojica-Carmona multiple times in the legs and torso.

Mojica-Carmona ran away and was found nearby by rescue personnel. He was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was expected to undergo surgery Friday evening, police said. No one else was hurt.

Mojica-Carmona will be charged with burglary with battery, police said.
