Bushnell man accused of molesting 6-year-old girl in Pinellas

A Sumter County man accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl about a decade ago was arrested Tuesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

Charles Michael Willis II, 24, of Bushnell, faces a charge of sexual battery on a child under 12 years of age.

Detectives began investigating Willis on Oct. 14 when a teen girl reported he had molested her several times between 2002 and 2003 in a Pinellas County home. Willis was 13 years old at the time.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Willis on Oct. 28 and arrested him in Sumter County.

He denied molesting the girl, deputies said.

Willis was being held at the Sumter County jail Wednesday.
