Clearwater man accused of neglecting pit bulls

CLEARWATER — A 29-year-old man accused of leaving his dogs home alone for about a month without food or water was arrested Wednesday.

Marcus K. Lee, of Clearwater admitted to police that he left his two adult pit bulls at 101 Waverly Way without food or water, an arrest affidavit says.

The dogs were "extremely malnourished and emaciated," according to the affidavit. They were removed from the house by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals .

Lee faces one charge of animal cruelty.

He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $150 bail.
