Clearwater man accused of sexually assaulting 3-year-old girl

CLEARWATER — A Clearwater man charged with making sexually explicit videos of an underage girl last month is now accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl, police said.

Steven Edward Speer, 27, faces three counts of sexual battery on a child younger than 12 years of age and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation.

Speer, of 1311 Boylan Ave. Apt. B, was arrested Nov. 6 after he admitted to an FBI agent to the production, transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography and to having stored the images on two cell phones and a laptop.

This year, Speer began working as a chef at Kelly's Chic-a-Boom Room in Dunedin.

Speer is being held at the Pinellas County jail, where he remained Friday without bail.
