Clearwater man arrested in drug sale

CLEARWATER — A 27-year-old man was arrested Monday on drug trafficking charges after, police said, he tried to sell Oxycodone pills to an undercover detective.

Breon Jackson, of the 1200 block of Carolyn Lane, was arrested on Sunset Point Road and charged with two counts of trafficking in Oxycodone and three counts of sale and possession of crack cocaine.

Clearwater police seized the pills, a 1990 Mercury and $150 in cash, according to a newss release.

Clearwater narcotics detectives said they were investigating Jackson in connection with dealing in various controlled substances. Jackson had previously sold crack cocaine to undercover detectives before he was arrested Monday, police said.

Jackson has previous felony convictions for drug sale and possession. He was released from state prison in June after serving 21 months for sale and possession of cocaine and marijuana, according to the state Department of Corrections.

On Tuesday, he was being held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $131,000 bail.
