Clearwater police say this man robbed a Mobil gas station at 22995 U.S. 19 N on Sunday night.

CLEARWATER — Clearwater police hope surveillance footage taken Sunday at a Mobil gas station will lead them to the armed robber who fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The department is seeking the public's help.

Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said the robber entered the Mobil at 22995 U.S. 19 N at 7:37 p.m. Sunday, demanded money and threatened the cashier with a small baseball bat.

Watts described the robber as a white man, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9, with a thin build and scruffy facial hair. He wore a baggy blue T-shirt with cutoff sleeves, baggy blue jeans with a hole in the left knee and a dark blue ball cap with red and brown on the brim.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clearwater police tip line at (727) 562-4422.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-873-8477 or submitting a tip online at crime stoppersofpinellas.org.
