DADE CITY — Police say a man discovered a most unwelcome guest in his home Thursday morning: A 21-year-old who snuck in overnight to have sex with the man's 14-year-old daughter.
The father announced he was calling police, and Larry Carlton Dykes tried to run out, according to a Dade City Police report. The father tried to restrain Dykes, who in turn bit the father in the chest, "causing lacerations and bleeding," police said. Dykes also hit the father in the neck with an unknown object, the report said.
Dykes fled but was arrested by police a couple of hours later. The girl told police she had sex with Dykes in her bedroom.
Dykes, of Dade City, was charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a child under 16, and felony battery. He remained Friday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
