An escaped prisoner from a Lake City facility was captured in the Withlacoochee State Forest on Saturday afternoon, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said.

Just before 4 p.m., deputies responded to the Croom Tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest in search Tyler Michael Trutt, 20, who was housed in the Bridges of Lake City community release center for Department of Corrections prisoners.

Trutt had failed to return from a job Friday in Gilchrist County.

Deputies found Trutt as he was driving a stolen car on Trail 7 of the Croom Tract in Brooksville.
