TAMPA — A man was arrested Wednesday on warrants charging him with three car thefts over the past two months, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

On Sunday, Scott Douglas Kelsey, 42, pulled into a Circle K gas station at 6009 State Road 579 in Mango in a stolen Ford F-150 pickup, according to the Sheriff's Office. He entered the store and left with a stolen Coca-Cola drink, authorities said, watched a man pull into the gas station in an Audi S8. The man left the door to his car unlocked with the keys inside.

As the man began to fill his tank, Kelsey entered the Audi and drove off, deputies said.

The Audi was recovered Tuesday at 7329 Kingsbury Circle in Tampa.

Kelsey is also a suspect in a third car theft on May 26, in which a Honda Accord was stolen, deputies said.

Kelsey faces several charges, including motor vehicle grand theft and vehicle burglary.

He was booked into the Hillsborough County jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $32,250 bail.
