Deputies: California man, 19, in jail after meeting girl, 14, he talked to on Myspace

BRANDON — A 19-year-old left California to see a girl he met on Myspace, authorities said.

She let him in through her bedroom window and, Sunday, Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies arrested him.

Brandon Neece is accused of lewd or lascivious battery on a victim under 16, according to an arrest affidavit. He told deputies he thought she was 20. She is 14.

The girl's parents found out about the sex between her and Neece on Thursday and called authorities, said Debbie Carter, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Neece is being held in jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
