Three teens arrested in connection with Brandon graffiti

BRANDON — For nearly a year, they painted graffiti across Brandon, targeting businesses at least 13 times, according to deputies.

Using the tags Swingset, Dash, Krast and Rayek, they hit a Walmart and a Burlington Coat Factory, among other shops.

Then a surveillance camera got a good recording of one of them, and this week deputies interviewed three young men — one 14, one 17 and 18-year-old Luis Alexander Lopez.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the young men painted graffiti on businesses' walls and fences, as well as street signs, traffic boxes and a utility trailer.

The 14-year-old was charged with three counts of criminal mischief. The 17-year-old faces 11 counts of criminal mischief. Lopez of Brandon also faces 11 counts of criminal mischief.
