A 25-year-old man who was being evicted rented the home to new tenants, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
Jonathan Denova is accused of falsifying a lease and collecting $1,100 in rent for the home on Luma Drive in Holiday. Denova gave the victims a lease naming himself as the rental agent for the property, according to a Sheriff's Office report.
In reality, Denova had received an eviction notice on May 8, according to the report.
Denova was arrested Thursday and charged with grand theft. He was released that night from the Land O'Lakes jail on $500 bail.
