WIMAUMA — Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are investigating a possible drive-by shooting that injured a man Sunday morning.
At about 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to 5224 Vernice St. after receiving reports of multiple shots fired, deputies said.
An adult man was shot once in the lower torso after a vehicle occupied by at least one person drove by the house and fired, deputies said. The man's family took him to the hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies said they do not believe this was a random act.
