Deputies investigating Tampa bank robbery

TAMPA — Deputies arrested a 41-year-old man Friday morning in connection with an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo bank, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Randy Lee Davis walked into the bank at 12233 N Florida Ave. at 9:15 a.m. and demanded money, said sheriff's office spokesman Larry McKinnon. The teller handed over the cash, and Davis ran off. No one was hurt.

Deputies searched the area and found him at a shopping center on Waters and Armenia avenues. Davis confessed to the crime and the undisclosed amount of money was recovered, McKinnon said.

He faces an armed bank robbery charge and is being held on $15,000 bail in the Hillsborough County jail.
