Deputies: Palm Harbor man behind string of car burglaries

PALM HARBOR — Authorities arrested a Palm Harbor man this weekend they say is responsible for a string of car burglaries in northern Pinellas County over the last few months.

Brennen C. Nelms, 18, was caught after a brief foot pursuit by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office just after 4 a.m. Saturday. Deputies said he had been seen robbing two cars in a neighborhood off Keystone Road.

Nelms admitted to about 20 car burglaries, deputies said. He was charged with two counts of armed conveyance burglary and two counts of conveyance burglary and will face additional charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.
