Deputies: Pasco man tried to kidnap woman on walk

NEW PORT RICHEY — A 28-year-old woman was taking her usual neighborhood walk Sunday afternoon when a stranger in a pickup truck stopped, chased her and tried to abduct her, Pasco authorities say.

"Don't worry, we're not going far," the man told her, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. "This won't take long."

The woman took off running on Sycamore Drive in the Tanglewood East neighborhood, and the man grabbed her arm. They both tripped in a gopher hole, and the woman was able to escape to a house for help.

The woman and her husband later went looking for the man and his truck, and found both at 9761 Delray Drive, the sheriff's report said. The victim's husband "got into a physical altercation" with the suspect, identified as Justin Blair King.

King, 36, was charged with aggravated assault and attempted kidnapping. He remained Monday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

  5. Bucs top Jaguars behind strong first half

There is a reason why the air in Tampa Bay is filled with playoff talk. If Thursday night's 12-8 Bucs preseason win over the Jaguars is any indication, it's also going to be filled with footballs thrown by quarterback Jameis Winston.

Doug Martin gets the Bucs’ only touchdown on a 2-yard run, squeaking past linebacker Telvin Smith in the first quarter. He has five carries for 30 yards.
