Deputies: Safety Harbor woman stabs boyfriend with screwdriver

SAFETY HARBOR — A 42-year-old woman remained behind bars Friday morning after deputies accused her of stabbing her boyfriend in the side with a screwdriver.

When deputies arrived at 660 11th Place in Safety Harbor just before 6:30 Thursday evening, they found Vincent B. Jones, 47, bleeding from the left side of his torso.

Deputies said Cherry E. Moody stabbed Jones with a screwdriver after the two had an argument and that the couple had been drinking prior to the incident.

Jones was taken to Bayfront Medical Center for his wound, the Sheriff's Office said.

Moody, who was arrested at the scene, was charged with aggravated battery and violating probation. She remained in jail Friday.

Moody was arrested in December and accused of battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction, according to jail records.

Jones has been accused of cocaine possession with intent to distribute, obstruction and battery of a law enforcement officer, according to jail records.
