Deputies search for man who robbed north Hillsborough bank

TAMPA — Deputies are looking for a robber who stole cash from a north Hillsborough bank while wearing a Scream-style mask.

The man entered the Bay Cities Bank at 14877 N Dale Mabry Highway at 10:03 a.m., dressed in a dark blue hooded jacket. He wore a mask and white-and-blue gardening gloves and may have been carrying a knife.

Deputies say the man ran inside, jumped over the counter and demanded money from one of the teller's drawers. He then tried to open another drawer, but failed.

He got away in a white car.

Deputies ask that anyone with information call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
