Deputies search for robber of New Port Richey BB&T bank

NEW PORT RICHEY — Authorities are searching for a large man who robbed a BB&T bank Tuesday afternoon.

The man walked into the bank at 6213 State Road 54 about 4 p.m. and verbally threatened a bank teller, then fled with an undisclosed amount of money, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

He is described as a black man, 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 270-300 pounds. He had a beard and was last seen wearing a red, white and blue hat with "Budweiser" logo, a long-sleeve T-shirt with a University of South Florida Bulls logo, and sunglasses and a yellow vest.
