Deputies search for suspect in attempted pharmacy robbery

TAMPA — Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob a Tampa pharmacy Wednesday but left empty-handed.

The unidentified man entered Lambright Pharmacy at 3430 W Lambright St. at 5:57 p.m., just before closing time, according to Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies. He approached the clerk and pulled a handgun, demanding money and drugs.

The clerk refused to comply and the man left in a newer gold or champagne-colored minivan or SUV, heading north on Glen Avenue, deputies said.

The suspect is described as white, in his early to mid 40s, 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8, and 210 to 230 pounds. He wore a dark baseball cap, white T-shirt and blue jeans. His face was concealed by a dark bandana, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
