Deputies were searching Tuesday for a man who was involved in a shooting and law enforcement pursuit late Monday.
Just before 10 p.m. Monday, Pinellas sheriff's deputies said, a man was shot in the front yard of a house at 8485 Pelican Lane, which is in the area of Starkey Road and Park Boulevard.
Three men ran from the scene, got into a vehicle and headed east on 62nd Avenue N.
Deputies tried to stop the vehicle but the driver led them on a pursuit at nearly 100 mph, deputies said. The driver lost control and crashed into a ditch on the south side of 62nd Avenue N near 49th Street, severing a power pole.
The driver and one passenger were injured and taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, but a second passenger ran off.
The man who was shot was taken to Bayfront with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. Deputies did not release the names of anyone involved on Tuesday.
